AEGEAN DELICATESSEN
OUR STORY
In March 2024, two brothers combined food technology with industrial product design. The result? TRATARO — a modern, family-run delicatessen. With a shared passion and complementary knowledge, they decided to return to their hometown and create a space where both locals and visitors could discover and taste rare products from all over Greece. Panagiotis took on the design of the store. With an emphasis on showcasing the products, he created an abstract and earthy space, using natural materials such as wood and marble for the shelves and furniture. Dimitris curated the wine collection from the Aegean and, with strict quality criteria, selected products that mainly do not contain preservatives, artificial flavors, or colorants, generally avoiding technological aids where they are not deemed necessary. His goal is to promote and support small producers, mainly from the Aegean islands. TRATARO, or "I treat," is a word that encompasses good food and hospitality—values that are at the core of our philosophy.
Local products you will discover in Tinos
On the island of Tinos, you will find a wide variety of agricultural and non-agricultural products. The island has two cheese factories, six wineries, and a number of small producers. The main agricultural products of the island are artichokes, capers, wine, honey, and cheese. Production may be small and often rare, always dependent on weather conditions, but it is always high quality and made with passion by very small producers.
The products we offer
In our store, you will find a section with local products from Tinos, such as cheese, sweets, appetizers, and cold cuts, as well as pasta, sauces, traditional sweets, legumes, nuts, olive oil, fresh beers and juices, special cheeses and salted fish from the Aegean islands and other regions of Greece.
From the producer to our shelf
Through culinary journeys throughout Greece, we discover authentic products from small producers. We visit production sites and get to know the people behind each product, so that we have a complete picture and can choose with knowledge and respect what reaches our shelves.
Dietary options for everyone
Aware of the dietary restrictions of both residents and travelers, we have enriched our selection with selected products for every need. At TRATARO, you will find gluten-free options (pasta, cookies, breadsticks, crackers, cold cuts, tea), salt-free options (graviera cheese), and sugar-free options (soft drinks, jams, chocolates).
OUR WINERIES
Wine, appetizers, and good company
A courtyard overlooking the Aegean Sea, good company, plates of appetizers, and a bottle of wine—this was the image we envisioned for TRATARO.
Wine is the connecting link of the group: it brings liveliness and calm at the same time. That is why we place special emphasis on our collection, creating an exhibition with at least 14 wineries from the Aegean islands, 6 of which are from Tinos.
Each label is accompanied by a detailed description of its organoleptic characteristics and suggestions for food pairings. Let us know your preferences—color, dryness, or aromas—and we will help you choose the ideal wine for every moment.
